Our Honorary President

Senator Victor Oh

Senator Victor Oh was born in Singapore. In 1978, he immigrated to Canada. In the following years, Senator Oh became a successful entrepreneur and an active community leader in the Greater Toronto Area. Much of his volunteer work focused on building bridges of understanding and collaboration across cultures as well as to helping newcomers from all over the world establish themselves and start their own businesses.

Since his appointment to the Senate of Canada in January 2013, Senator Oh has been committed to advancing the interests and rights of vulnerable groups, including seniors, youth and migrants, and to promoting economic growth and job creation for generations to come. He has also been involved in various initiatives that celebrate the rich ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity of Canada.

Today, Senator Oh is the Vice-Chair of the Canada-China Legislative Association and of the Canada-Japan Inter-Parliamentary Group in addition to a member of the Canada-Europe Parliamentary Association, the Canadian Section of ParlAmericas and the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group. He has also held executive positions in a number of parliamentary friendship groups including Canada-Bulgaria, Canada-Indonesia, Canada-Malaysia, Canada-Nordic-Baltic, Canada-Peru and Canada-Singapore.

David Sun - President
David and his family moved to Toronto from Singapore in 2014. Over the past thirty years, David’s professional career has spanned financial, investment, and management consultant areas. He has held a variety of management positions including President, CEO, and business owner in Singapore and China. David is currently CEO of Fortress Fortune Inc, an investment and management consulting firm that focuses on investment, financial, operational management and social media. In his role, David works with a wide range of clients from Fortune 500 corporations to smaller entrepreneurial and high-tech organizations, where he is a trusted advisor and consultant.
While in Canada, David is serving as President of Singa Sino Economic & Cultural Exchange Association and Vice President of Chinese Media Professionals Association Toronto. It is his aim to build a platform for everyone who is interested in maintaining or building relationships in Singapore and Canada.
David holds an MBA from University of South Australia.

Connie Goh - Executive Director

Connie is one of the key founding members of the Chamber. She relocated to Toronto in 2013. In the winter of 2014, she got her real estate license and went into partnership with the Founder of Express Realty Inc. She currently oversees the Investor Relations department as well as Marketing & Communications at Express Realty Inc. She has attained her vast experience in such roles as Chief Marketing Officer, Director and Vice President of Sales and Marketing for multi-national companies in a variety of industries such as hospitality and healthcare group. She has expertise in corporate development and was previously an Associate in Singapore’s largest real estate company.

Connie’s entrepreneurial spirit has served her well as she strategically builds her clienteles from scratch. Her ability to understand investor needs and build strong, fruitful relationships and partnerships is the core of her success. Connie’s energy, positive attitude and tenacity make her a valuable resource to investors, colleagues and business associates alike. Connie hopes to use these skills and experiences to help Singapore newcomers integrate into Canadian society, build and maintain Canadian-Singapore relationships and champion networking initiatives.

Connie graduated with Mathematics and Marketing degrees in Singapore and Australia. She has also earned an MBA from Nanyang University of Singapore.

Christine Xu - Executive Director

Christine is one of the key founding members of the Chamber.

She has previously owned a shipping business in Singapore from the ground up. She enjoys collaborating with people and solving problems in innovative ways that have business and user impact. She graduated with Bachelor of Economics from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics. She is the CEO of North American Culture and Art Curation Inc. She is also serving as the General Secretary of Canada GHM International Investment.

She is also a partner with an immigration company and is actively involved in helping and advising newcomers on immigration policy to Canada.
